My base has 15 large solar panels. Solar capacitor does not turn on and when i turn it on from device control panel it turns off after 1 2 seconds. Do they not work in space or am i doing it wrong. Switch off all constructors and food processors let the capacitor charge a full day do not use it that night.

Does anyone have this problem or even better a solution to it. The capacitor for the station is turned on but the station is not getting any power from the panels. Panels are placed correctly towards sun and are on. In addition any generators present in the base will not consume fuel as long as there is ample solar energy stored in capacitors to meet the base s power needs.

It will eventually climg with only 1 panel if you dont use any energy but it would take a long time p so yea the more the merrier when it comes to panels i have run my bases on full solar since i started not that long ago they work great but you have to be energy efficiant and patient to start with untill they build up some. Solar capacitors will always prioritize using solar energy before burning fuel. Yes they do as long as they produce more power than your base needs the generator runs but doesnt use fuel and the battery charges when the battery runs out it starts using fuel. If the average output or current output is less than the consumption of your base then your solar panels are not charging the battery they will slow the rate of fuel consumption in your fuel tanks though.
